educational therapy for schools

1.

Speech & Language therapy

Our SLPs are certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and licensed in the state in which the student resides. They assess and treat students with communication challenges in the areas of articulation, receptive and expressive language, social language, and fluency. They can also provide support to limited verbal or nonverbal students through the use of Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC). SLPs and SLPAs support healthy communication and engagement by fostering academic success, boosting confidence, promoting social skills, and preventing potential issues that may arise due to untreated speech and language difficulties.

2.

Occupational Therapy

Our State licensed OT practitioners work with students using meaningful activities to promote mental health and physical well-being in the classroom setting. They address the areas of cognition, physical abilities, psycho-social and sensory components. OT focuses not only on academics, but play, social participation, self-care skills, and transition/work skills. By recommending and implementing adaptations and modifications, they work to reduce barriers and improve participation and success in the classroom.

3.

physical therapy

Our State-licensed PT practitioners recognize there is a strong link between mental health and physical health. They support students’ physical development and work closely with other medical professionals, assisting those with physical disabilities to ensure they have access to the same academic and social opportunities as other students. They support students through various physical and developmental challenges that students may face. Activities focus on promoting development, preventing injuries, and contributing to an inclusive and supportive learning environment. These interventions can have a positive impact on both physical and mental aspects of student health and contribute to their overall well-being.

4.

counseling

Our State-certified School Counselors work with student’s and their families to develop goals for their emotional and mental health. They utilize a comprehensive and multifaceted approach that addresses various aspects of a student’s life, promoting not only academic success but also emotional and social well-being. Through counseling, students can develop the skills and resilience needed to overcome challenges and thrive in both academic and personal spheres.

5.

Psychoeducational Evaluations

Our Nationally Certified School Psychologists assess students to determine if there is a need for educational-related services. They will evaluate a child across multiple areas of achievement and development. This information comprehensively explains a student’s cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Then, along with the team, the student’s teacher and parent, the School Psychologist will determine if a child needs interventions or supports and make recommendations to aid in developing the student’s educational plan. This plan will provide a foundation for targeted interventions, fostering collaboration, reducing stigma, and promoting a positive and inclusive educational environment.
